High performance SSL termination can remove the overhead of CPU intensive encryption from your web servers, allowing them to spend more time and resource on other tasks.
How does SSL Offload work?
In conjunction with connection control, SSL Offload works by terminating SSL (https) requests at the load balancer, rather than at the server, massively reducing the performance impact on the server pool.
According to Independent body Broadband Testing, https traffic can generate 10 times more load on the server than regular http traffic. With this in mind, SSL Offload not only dramatically enhances server performance, but also in some cases enables server consolidation for a cost effect and efficient solution.
A jetNEXUS channel can made to be run SSL by simply selecting the certificate you wanted to use and clicking enable.
Multi Channel Support
Up to 24 simultaneous certificates handled via multiple virtual acceleration engines on the same physical hardware.
Central Certificate Management
All SSL certificates can be stored on the appliance to simplify sometimes unorganized and disparate SSL certificate management
Auto Generation of Certificate Requests
The jetNEXUS SSL implementation can automatically generate certificate requests. This request can simply be sent to an Authority and they can issue the appropriate certificate.
Certificate Authority for Test certificates
Self cert certificates can be easily created on the appliance. These are particularly useful for testing or internal applications.
Certificate Import/Export via GUI
Pre-existing certificates from IIS & Apache can easily be imported or exported via the web based interface.
