High performance SSL termination can remove the overhead of CPU intensive encryption from your web servers, allowing them to spend more time and resource on other tasks.

How does SSL Offload work?
In conjunction with connection control, SSL Offload works by terminating SSL (https) requests at the load balancer, rather than at the server, massively reducing the performance impact on the server pool.

According to Independent body Broadband Testing, https traffic can generate 10 times more load on the server than regular http traffic. With this in mind, SSL Offload not only dramatically enhances server performance, but also in some cases enables server consolidation for a cost effect and efficient solution.
