The jetNEXUS ALB-X ISO is a fully integrated software load balancer product complete with operating system and installer in one, enabling clients for the first time ever to take the powerful architecture of the jetNEXUS ALB-X solution and build onto almost any standard server hardware platform.

How to Install the jetNEXUS ISO

Installation of the jetNEXUS ISO requires no significant technical know-how, just follow the three stage guide:

Download the ISO from the jetNEXUS web site (www.jetnexus.com/accelerating-load-balancer-extreme-iso.html) and burn it to CD. You can use your default CD burner application or you can download and install an open source (and free) application such as InfraRecorder (http://infrarecorder.org/) or a trial of commercial products such as Nero (http://www.nero.com).

Take the jetNEXUS CD you’ve just burned on your drive and chose an appropriate server hardware platform to build as an ALB-X. We strongly recommend at least a high end Pentium 4 processor and 512MB of RAM, an 80GB hard disk as well as two Intel or Broadcom Gigabit NICs (required). Note: The hard disk will be completely wiped and reformatted as part of the installation process!

Boot the server hardware from the jetNEXUS CD - you may need to check the BIOS will boot first from the CD ROM – and type “jetnexus” at the installer prompt followed by a short coffee break. Once the CD is ejected, the server hardware will reboot. You now have a jetNEXUS Accelerating Load Balancer!
